Victoria Birlutiu, Medical Department, Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Faculty of Medicine, Sibiu, Romania Assoc. prof. Victoria Birlutiu MD PhD, graduated in Medicine from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Craiova, Romania, in 1986. She obtained her specialty in Infectious Diseases in 1995 from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Cluj Napoca, Romania. She works in the Academic Emergeny Hospital Sibiu since 1999 and in Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Faculty of Medicine since 1996. She is the Chief of the Infectious Diseases Clinic from her hospital. She is the director of the residency department from her university. Her main areas of interests are: general Infectious Diseases, Tropical Diseases, Lyme Disease, Neuroinfections, West Nile Infection, Viral Hepatitis, Sepsis, and Clostridium difficile infection. She published more than 180 articles/papers in national and international journals. She participated in many international clinical trials. She is member of The European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, and The European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases. Also she is an associate editor for Current Pediatric Research, and International Journal of Pediatrics, and a reviewer for BMC Infectious Diseases, Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal, British Microbiology Research Journal, International Research Journal of Medicine and Medical Sciences, and others.
